A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Samuel L. Tillman; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, it is with great respect and appreciation that we honor Samuel L. Tillman of Decatur, Georgia, for his outstanding dedication to public service, military service, family, and community; and
WHEREAS, Samuel L. Tillman is a decorated veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the 1960s, including service during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage, discipline, and a steadfast commitment to the defense of our nation; and
WHEREAS, Samuel L. Tillman has faithfully served the citizens of Georgia through his distinguished work as Chief of Staff to State Senator Emanuel Jones for over 22 years, exemplifying leadership, wisdom, and commitment to the legislative process; and
WHEREAS, his long and impactful career in state government also includes dedicated service with the DeKalb County Board of Elections as well as his work alongside Deputy Insurance Commissioner Tim Riles, where he contributed his knowledge, professionalism, and tireless work ethic to the betterment of public service; and
WHEREAS, throughout his tenure, he has been known for his integrity, professionalism, and steadfast loyalty, earning the trust and admiration of colleagues, constituents, and all who have had the privilege of working alongside him; and
WHEREAS, his contributions extend beyond policy and governance, as he has played a vital role in strengthening relationships within the community and ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and respected; and
WHEREAS, beyond his professional accomplishments, Samuel L. Tillman is a devoted and loving husband, a proud and caring father, and a cherished grandfather whose greatest joy comes from the love and unity of his family; and
WHEREAS, Samuel L. Tillman's life stands as a testament to the values of service, dedication, and love, encouraging all who know him to strive for excellence and to serve others with humility and grace.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Samuel L. Tillman for his invaluable contributions to the State of Georgia and his profound impact on his family, community, and country. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Samuel L. Tillman.
