Touhy; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Mrs. Angela W. Touhy has earned the admiration and respect of colleagues and citizens alike through her years of faithful service and her unwavering commitment to excellence within the state capitol; and WHEREAS, her distinguished career with the State of Georgia began in 1986 with the State Personnel Administration and continued with over a decade of service at the Department of Human Resources, where she developed a foundation in public service and administration; and WHEREAS, she brought her talents to the Georgia State Senate in 2000, serving Chairmen George Hooks and Jack Hill in the Senate Appropriations Committee; and WHEREAS, throughout her outstanding career with the State of Georgia, she has demonstrated exceptional professionalism, institutional knowledge, and a tireless dedication to supporting the work of the Georgia General Assembly; and WHEREAS, following her well-deserved retirement, Mrs. Touhy once again answered the call to serve in 2022, bringing her experience and steady leadership back to assist Chairman Blake Tillery and the Senate Appropriations Committee; and WHEREAS, known for her remarkable work ethic, she begins each day early and consistently goes above and beyond what is required, ensuring that the work of the Senate is carried out efficiently and effectively; and WHEREAS, her positive attitude and calm presence, even in the most demanding circumstances, have made her a source of encouragement and strength to all who have the pleasure of working with her; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Touhy is incredibly beloved within the Capitol community, where her kindness and care for others have left a lasting impression on countless colleagues and friends; and WHEREAS, outside of her professional life, she enjoys traveling with her husband, Bobby, and spending time at their home in Twin Lakes, Colorado; and WHEREAS it is fitting and proper to recognize and celebrate the continued service and enduring impact of such an exceptional individual. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Mrs. Angela W. Touhy for her exemplary service and extend their sincere appreciation for her many contributions to the Georgia State Senate and the State of Georgia. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mrs. Angela W. Touhy.
