A RESOLUTION
Commending Zachary Humphries; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Zachary Humphries of Dunwoody, Georgia, has demonstrated a strong commitment to his community through service, civic engagement, and public involvement; and
WHEREAS, he currently serves as a legislative aide to Senator Jaha Howard, supporting citizens of the 35th Senate District through constituent services, coordination with local councils and community organizations, and the organization of legislative town halls that bring together elected officials, community leaders, and residents; and
WHEREAS, his dedication to civic engagement is further evidenced by his service as a local historian and History Committee board member with the Dunwoody Preservation Trust, where he preserves community history through educational tours, record digitization, and public outreach; and
WHEREAS, he additionally serves DeKalb County as precinct manager of the Austin polling precinct and volunteers at Dunwoody's Lemonade Days festival; and
WHEREAS, his commitment to service extends to his faith community at Park Avenue Baptist Church, where he serves as a food and housing coordinator, assisting with food distribution across the Greater Atlanta area, supporting efforts to provide shelter and resources for those in need, and maintaining the church's community garden and library; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exemplary individual be appropriately honored during this special time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Zachary Humphries for his dedication to public service, civic engagement, and community leadership as well as extend the most sincere best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Zachary Humphries.
