A RESOLUTION
Commending the Atlanta Fire Cricket Club as the proud home team of Atlanta, Georgia, and
recognizing its 2025 Minor League Cricket National Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Atlanta businessman Mohammed Hasan Tarek established the Atlanta Fire
Cricket Club in 2018—as a former president of the Bangladesh Sports Federation of Georgia,
he played a vital role in the growth and development of cricket in the Atlanta community,
transforming his vision into one of the premier professional cricket organizations in the
United States; and
WHEREAS, the Atlanta Fire Cricket Club's core mission is to elevate the game of cricket
in the United States while representing the City of Atlanta as a leading hub for the sport—the
organization upholds the highest standards of excellence both on and off the field through
visionary leadership, dedicated management, and a diverse roster of international and
domestic talent; and
WHEREAS, the team's championship season builds upon a strong legacy of success, with
prior tournament victories across the United States including the 2025 Houston Open
Tournament; 2021 LA Open; 2019 Desmond Lewis Tournament; 2019 2X Tournament; and
2019 National Cricket League, demonstrating the team's sustained excellence and
organizational strength; and
WHEREAS, the organization continues to maintain a year-round cricket calendar,
participating in premier tournaments and events nationwide while fostering community
engagement, youth development, and increased awareness of cricket throughout Georgia and
beyond; and
WHEREAS, the Atlanta Fire Cricket Club has played a significant role in expanding the
presence of cricket in Georgia, contributing to the state's growing recognition as an emerging
center for one of the world's most popular sports, enjoyed by billions globally.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
commend the Atlanta Fire Cricket Club as the proud home team of Atlanta, Georgia,
recognize its achievement as the 2025 Minor League Cricket National Champions, and
extend their best wishes for continued success in elevating the sport of cricket across the state
and nation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the Atlanta Fire
Cricket Club, the public, and the press.
