A RESOLUTION
Commending Jorvis D. McGee; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Jorvis D. McGee is a doctoral candidate at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta,
Georgia, where he is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership,
building upon prior degrees in communication and education; and
WHEREAS, Jorvis D. McGee has served as a legislative intern in the Office of Senator Kim
Jackson during the 2026 regular session of the Georgia General Assembly, where he
contributes to daily operations and public service efforts; and
WHEREAS, he further serves as president of the Graduate Student Government Association
at Clark Atlanta University, representing more than 700 graduate students and leading
initiatives in student advocacy, governance, and institutional collaboration; and
WHEREAS, in this role, he has overseen major organizational and policy efforts, including
expanding the student government budget, advancing legislation to increase funding for
student organizations, and strengthening graduate representation through the establishment
of the Graduate Council; and
WHEREAS, he has demonstrated a sustained commitment to leadership and service through
prior professional experience with national and university organizations, including roles that
involved strategic planning, program development, and large-scale organizational
coordination; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the service and achievements of this
outstanding individual be appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
commend Jorvis D. McGee for his service as a legislative intern during the 2026 regular
session of the Georgia General Assembly and extend best wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Jorvis D. McGee.
