A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Laura James; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Laura James has faithfully served with The UPS Foundation (TUPSF) since 2010, contributing more than a decade of unwavering dedication, leadership, and impact; and

WHEREAS, throughout her tenure, Laura has demonstrated exceptional commitment to strengthening communities, most notably by coordinating coat drives that have collectively brought in over 50,000 coats for individuals and families in need; and

WHEREAS, Laura has organized more than 40 volunteer events and personally completed over 600 volunteer hours, setting a powerful example of servant leadership and inspiring others to give back; and

WHEREAS, under her guidance, the regions she managed collectively achieved over 450,000 volunteer hours, illustrating her ability to mobilize, unite, and motivate teams toward meaningful civic engagement; and

WHEREAS, Laura has cultivated and strengthened major community partnerships, including but not limited to the American Cancer Society - Northeast Region, Harlem Junior Tennis and Education Program, New York Urban League, and New York Scores, reinforcing The UPS Foundation's commitment to equitable access, education, and health; and

WHEREAS, Laura has consistently demonstrated excellence in portfolio management, ensuring that programs delivered maximum community value while operating with integrity, accountability, and strategic insight; and

WHEREAS, during the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Laura navigated uncertainty with resilience and innovation, ensuring that critical community initiatives continued and that The UPS Foundation remained a reliable partner to those it serves; and

WHEREAS, Laura's career reflects not only her professional excellence but also her compassion, generosity, and steadfast belief in delivering what matters.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Laura James for her remarkable service, leadership, and heart; congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend best wishes for future health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Laura James.
