By: Senators Goodman of the 8th, Watson of the 11th, Summers of the 13th and Hickman
of the 4th
A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Lanier County High School Lady Bulldogs for winning the GHSA Class
A Division II State Softball Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Lanier County High School Lady Bulldogs has established and maintained
a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and
WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary leadership made this team
a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its extraordinary
2024 campaign, the team triumphed in a hard-fought battle to become the GHSA Class A
Division II State Softball Champions; and
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of MVP Jaden Benefield and her superb pitching
ability are a clear display of the outstanding athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity
of purpose and spirit among each member of the team as well as the astute direction of head
coach Ben Davis; and
WHEREAS, the team performed with precision during the season and earned its
well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, the quality of its play,
and the stiff competition it presented to its opponents; and
WHEREAS, this accomplished team achieved a remarkable 24-4 record and earned Lanier
County its first softball championship ever.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate the Lanier County High School Lady Bulldogs on their victory at the GHSA
Class A Division II State Softball Championship and extend best wishes for their continued
success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Lanier County
High School Lady Bulldogs.
