## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution honors Evette Derrickson for receiving the Activity Director of the Year award from the Georgia health care association Stars in Long Term Care program.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution passed by the Georgia Senate, not a law that changes anything in the Georgia Code. It recognizes Evette Derrickson, who received the Activity Director of the Year award through the Georgia health care association's Stars in Long Term Care recognition program, which honors long-term and post-acute care professionals.
The resolution praises her contributions to elderly and disabled Georgians in long-term care settings and directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare a copy of the resolution for her. It carries no funding, penalties, or changes to state law; it is purely a formal statement of commendation from the Senate.

### What it does

- Formally commends Evette Derrickson for receiving the Activity Director of the Year award.
- States the Senate's recognition of her contributions to long-term and post-acute care for elderly and disabled Georgians.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute an official copy of the resolution to her.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory change, as is typical of a commemorative resolution.

### Who it affects

This resolution directly names and honors Evette Derrickson. It also references the Georgia health care association Stars in Long Term Care program and, more broadly, long-term and post-acute care workers and the elderly and disabled residents they serve.

### Why it matters

The resolution has no legal or regulatory effect on Georgians generally. Its significance is symbolic: it gives official Senate recognition to an individual honored for her work in long-term care, a field serving elderly and disabled residents across the state.

### Key provisions

- The resolution recites the Georgia health care association Stars in Long Term Care program's purpose of honoring outstanding long-term and post-acute care professionals.
- The resolved clause has the Senate commend Evette Derrickson and wish her continued health and happiness.
- A further resolved clause directs the Secretary of the Senate to provide her an official copy of the resolution.
