A RESOLUTION
Recognizing February 11, 2025, as the Interfaith Children's Movement's 14th Annual Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Interfaith Children's Movement (ICM) has been a steadfast advocate for Georgia's children since its founding in 2001, uniting people of all faiths to create a better future by mobilizing communities across the state to champion policies that promote child well-being, justice, and equity; and
WHEREAS, through its advocacy efforts, ICM has played a pivotal role in securing vital protections for Georgia's children, from expanding access to healthcare to strengthening juvenile justice reforms; and
WHEREAS, by fostering collaboration among faith leaders, policymakers, and grassroots organizers, ICM has built a movement that speaks with a unified voice on behalf of the most vulnerable; and
WHEREAS, the organization's dedication extends beyond policy work as it prepares the next generation of advocates through youth engagement programs such as the Youth Alliance and the Youth Advocacy Internship, empowering young people to use their voices to shape a more just and compassionate society; and
WHEREAS, on this 14th Annual Day at the state capitol, ICM's tireless commitment to ensuring that all children in Georgia have the opportunity to thrive represents a call to action for leaders, advocates, and communities across the state to continue working toward a future where every child is nurtured, protected, and given the opportunity to succeed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize February 11, 2025, as the Interfaith Children's Movement's 14th Annual Day at the state capitol in honor of the organization's unwavering efforts on behalf of the children of this state as well as extend best wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Interfaith Children's Movement.
