Senate Resolution 188

A RESOLUTION

Honoring the life and memory of Investigator Taylor Jaimeson Bristow; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia lost one of its finest citizens and most dedicated law enforcement officers with the untimely passing of Investigator Taylor Jaimeson Bristow on August 23, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Investigator Bristow was born on July 2, 1994, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the beloved son of Robert Bristow and Shelly Murray Bristow; and

WHEREAS, Investigator Bristow was highly regarded by the citizens of his community and state as well as by local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity and dedication to the sound principles of law enforcement; and

WHEREAS, he served with honor and distinction as a member of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office for six years, and his life was tragically taken in the line of duty while he heroically carried out the difficult responsibilities of his vocation; and

WHEREAS, prior to his position at the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Investigator Bristow served as part of the Ware County Sheriff's Office and the Waycross Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Investigator Bristow exhibited extraordinary devotion to public service, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all of his duties; and

WHEREAS, beyond his career, he found great happiness in watching his son, Noah, play baseball, often offering guidance from the sidelines, and he shared an unbreakable bond with his daughter, Bella, whom he adored and treasured as his princess; and

WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Melissa, and he was further blessed with two true canine companions, Bo Duke and Daisy Duke, who served as his loyal sidekicks; and

WHEREAS, he will long be remembered for his inspiring commitment to the welfare of others, which stands as a shining example of the positive effect law enforcement professionals have on the lives and well-being of others.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Investigator Taylor Jaimeson Bristow and express their most sincere condolences at his passing.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Investigator Taylor Jaimeson Bristow.
