Senate Resolution 204 By: Senators Davenport of the 17th, Harbison of the 15th, Jones of the 10th, Jackson of the 41st, Anderson of the 43rd and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the Georgia Vision Alliance for its exemplary contributions to the blind and visually impaired community in Georgia; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Georgia Vision Alliance has been a steadfast advocate for the blind and visually impaired community, working tirelessly to advance accessibility, equality, and opportunities across the state of Georgia; and WHEREAS, this distinguished organization has demonstrated unwavering commitment to creating an inclusive society where individuals with visual impairments can lead independent, fulfilling, and dignified lives; and WHEREAS, the Georgia Vision Alliance has provided invaluable resources, education, and advocacy for policies that promote accessibility, foster independence, and empower those affected by visual impairments; and WHEREAS, under the exceptional leadership of its chairman, Alice Ritchheart, and co-chairmen, Stephanie Scott and McArthur Jarrett, the Georgia Vision Alliance has championed the establishment of a Commission for the Blind in Georgia, a transformative initiative that has garnered widespread support and recognition for its potential to improve lives; and WHEREAS, the Alliance's efforts have inspired communities, legislators, and organizations to prioritize the needs of the blind and visually impaired, fostering collaboration and progress in addressing critical accessibility issues; and WHEREAS, the dedication of the Georgia Vision Alliance exemplifies the spirit of compassion, resilience, and service that defines the best of Georgia's citizenry. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body honor and commend the Georgia Vision Alliance for its outstanding service, advocacy, and leadership in the blind and visually impaired community as well as extend best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Vision Alliance.
