## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution designates February 27, 2025 as Georgia Airports Association Day, honoring the organization and the state's network of airports.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate rather than a change to state law. It recognizes February 27, 2025 as Georgia Airports Association Day, citing the state's 95 general aviation airports and 103 total publicly owned airports, including eight commercial service airports, and their role in the state's economy.
The resolution states that these airports generate a combined $73.7 billion in annual economic activity and support more than 450,000 jobs with $20.2 billion in payroll. It also credits the Georgia Airports Association, founded in 1990, with supporting airport development and providing training and networking resources to its members. The resolution directs the Secretary of the Senate to send a copy of the resolution to the Georgia Airports Association.

### What it does

- States figures on Georgia's airport system, including 95 general aviation airports and 103 total publicly owned airports.
- Credits the Georgia Airports Association, founded in 1990, with supporting airport growth and providing training and networking resources.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to the Georgia Airports Association.

### Why it matters

As a ceremonial resolution, this measure carries no legal force and creates no new rules, funding, or requirements. Its main effect is a formal, public acknowledgment by the Georgia Senate of the airport industry's economic role and the Georgia Airports Association's work.

### Key provisions
