## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution formally commends the South Atlanta Vascular Institute, a multi-specialty vascular medical practice, for its patient care and contributions to Georgia.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate, not a change to state law. It recognizes the South Atlanta Vascular Institute (SAVI), a medical practice that combines board-certified vascular surgeons and vascular interventional radiologists to treat arterial and venous diseases such as peripheral vascular disease, varicose veins, and deep vein thrombosis.
The resolution praises SAVI's outpatient surgical center, its minimally invasive treatment approach, and several of its physicians who have been named Top Doctors. It directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare a copy of the resolution for the institute, but it creates no new requirements, funding, or legal changes.

### What it does

- Formally commends the South Atlanta Vascular Institute for its healthcare services and contributions to Georgia citizens.
- States praise for SAVI's minimally invasive treatment methods and its outpatient surgical center.
- Names three SAVI physicians, Dr. David Allison, Dr. Paul Jones, and Dr. David Penn, as recognized Top Doctors.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare an appropriate copy of the resolution for distribution to SAVI.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names the South Atlanta Vascular Institute and its physicians, Dr. David Allison, Dr. Paul Jones, and Dr. David Penn. It has no binding effect on the public, patients, or other healthcare providers.

### Why it matters

This resolution is symbolic rather than legally binding. It does not change how SAVI operates, create funding, or affect patients' access to care; its practical effect is limited to an official expression of recognition from the Georgia Senate.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe SAVI's practice areas, including arterial diseases like peripheral vascular disease and venous diseases like deep vein thrombosis.
- The resolved clause has the Senate commend SAVI for its contributions to Georgia citizens and extend best wishes.
- A further resolved clause directs the Secretary of the Senate to produce a copy for distribution to SAVI.
