## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution congratulates the Pierce County High School competition cheerleading team for winning the 2024 AA Division State Cheerleading Championship.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate rather than a change to state law. It honors the Pierce County High School competition cheerleading team for completing an undefeated 2024 season and winning the AA Division State Cheerleading Championship.
The resolution praises the team's teamwork, athleticism, and academics, credits Coach Mandy Beverly for her leadership, and lists the full roster of team members by name. The Senate formally congratulates the team and wishes them continued success, and directs the Secretary of the Senate to send an official copy of the resolution to the team for their records.

### What it does

- Formally congratulates the Pierce County High School competition cheerleading team for winning the 2024 AA Division State Cheerleading Championship.
- Recognizes Coach Mandy Beverly for guiding seven consecutive Region Championship teams.
- Names all 21 members of the championship-winning roster in the official record of the Georgia Senate.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to the team.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names and honors the Pierce County High School competition cheerleading team, its coach Mandy Beverly, and the school community; it does not create obligations for any other Georgians or state agencies beyond the Secretary of the Senate's clerical task.

### Why it matters

This resolution carries symbolic rather than legal weight. It creates an official Georgia Senate record honoring the team's achievement, giving the students, coach, and school public recognition, but it does not change any law, funding, or policy in Georgia.
