A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Brookwood High School boys swim and dive team for winning the 2025
GHSA Class 6A State Swimming and Diving Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Brookwood High School boys swim and dive team has established and
maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;
and
WHEREAS, excellent performance, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made
this team a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its
remarkable 2025 campaign, the team captured its eighth state championship with a
commanding 409-293 lead over its closest competitor, Walton; and
WHEREAS, the team was led by Baylor Stanton, who earned individual state titles in the
200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke as well as competed on the winning
200-yard medley relay team alongside Ean Silvers, Collin Severtson, and Wyatt Hinson; and
WHEREAS, Michael Stanton secured victory in the 500-yard freestyle and joined Thien
Nguyen, Noah Silvers, and Wyatt Hinson to claim the state title in the 200-yard freestyle
relay; and
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit demonstrated by each
member; and
WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is
abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate the Brookwood High School boys swim and dive team for winning the 2025
GHSA Class 6A State Swimming and Diving Championship and extend best wishes for their
continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Brookwood
High School boys swim and dive team.
