Investigator Eric Anthony Minix Highway; Coweta County; dedicate ## Text 25 LC 39 4719 Senate Resolution 371 By: Senators Brass of the 6th, Robertson of the 29th, Anavitarte of the 31st, Still of the 48th, Rhett of the 33rd and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the life of Investigator Eric Anthony Minix and dedicating a road in his memory;1 and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Investigator Eric Anthony Minix was born in Covington, Georgia, on June 8,3 1992, a beloved son of Mark Minix and Angela Mitchell and his life was tragically cut short4 in the line of duty on January 4, 2024; and5 WHEREAS, Investigator Minix was highly regarded by the citizens of his community and6 state and by local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity and dedication7 to the sound principles of law enforcement; and8 WHEREAS, he served with honor and distinction as a dedicated investigator and K9 handler9 for the Coweta County Sheriff's Department where he exhibited extraordinary devotion to10 public service, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all11 of his duties; and12 WHEREAS, he will long be remembered for his inspiring commitmen t to the welfare of13 others, which stands as a shining example of the positive effec t law enforcement14 professionals have on the lives and well-being of others; and15 S. R. 371 - 1 - 25 LC 39 4719 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le and distinguished16 Georgian be recognized appropriately by dedicating a road in his memory.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL18 ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the portion of State Route 16 from State Route 14 to State19 Route 54 in Coweta County is dedicated as the Investigator Eric Anthony Minix Highway.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and21 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Investigator Eric Anthony22 Minix Highway.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for dis tribution to the family of25 Investigator Eric Anthony Minix and to the Department of Transportation.26 S.
