Senate Resolution 384

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Mrs. Becky Futch upon her retirement; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Becky Futch graduated as Salutatorian and STAR student from Cook High School in 1991; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch graduated from Valdosta State University with degrees in Applied Mathematics and Secondary Education Mathematics in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch graduated from Troy State University with a master's degree in Instructional Technology in 2006; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch began teaching at Cook High School in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch is married to Jody Futch and is the mother of two daughters, Nicole Garcia, who is married to Adrian Garcia, and Erika Van Houten, who is married to John Van Houten; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch is "Mimi" to a granddaughter, Dawn, and a grandson, Aaron; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch will be retiring in May after 30 years of teaching at Cook High School; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Futch has made substantial impacts and investments into her students both through their academics and personalities; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Mrs. Becky Futch for her decades of exemplary teaching and service, congratulate her upon her retirement, and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mrs. Becky Futch.
