Senate Resolution 39 By: Senators Payne of the 54th, Anavitarte of the 31st, Summers of the 13th, Anderson of the 24th, Watson of the 1st and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing February 2025 as Career and Technical Education Month and February 5, 2025, as Georgia Career and Technical Student Organizations Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, organizations such as CTI, DECA, ENGAGE, FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, FRC, HOSA, SkillsUSA, and TSA, along with career, technical, and agricultural education, provide a solid foundation for the youth of America and for the future business and economic development in our state; and WHEREAS, career and technical student organizations promote occupational excellence, leadership, and citizenship among their members, who are preparing for the workforce and further education; and WHEREAS, career and technical student organizations in Georgia are an integral part of and intra-curricular component for career, technical, and agricultural education programs, which are designed to support instructional objectives and the attainment of academic and technical competencies; and WHEREAS, they provide an opportunity for students not only to gain confidence and knowledge through competition but also to become more motivated in becoming better students and more productive citizens, which in turn develops school and community leaders. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize February 2025 as Career and Technical Education Month and February 5, 2025, as Georgia Career and Technical Student Organizations Day at the state capitol. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Department of Education.
