Arabia Mountain Vineyard; recognize ## Text 25 LC 129 0349 Senate Resolution 405 By: Senators Mangham of the 55th, Jones of the 10th, Anderson of the 43rd, Jackson of the 41st, Wicks of the 34th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing Arabia Mountain Vineyard; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Arabia Mountain Vineyard is a vibrant agritourism dest ination and2 multipurpose venue where entertainment, recreation, and education come to life; and 3 WHEREAS, rooted in environmental stewardship and economic empow erment, Arabia4 Mountain Vineyard provides hands-on learning, workforce development, and opportunities5 for small businesses and local entrepreneurs to flourish; and6 WHEREAS, the vineyard actively supports local schools, charitie s, and cultural events,7 enhancing the lives of residents of DeKalb, Rockdale, and Henry counties; and8 WHEREAS, Arabia Mountain Vineyard has introduced more than 1,500 students to hands-9 on agricultural experiences, inspiring future generations of agriculturalists and environmental10 stewards as well as fostering a love for the environment, susta inable farming, and11 horticulture; and12 WHEREAS, the vineyard stimulates the local economy by providing opportunities in13 agriculture, hospitality, and event planning as well as by serv ing as a training ground for14 S. R. 405 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0349 landscaping and botanical expertise, furthering participants' career readiness and education15 in fields of landscaping and viticulture; and16 WHEREAS, by prioritizing organic farming, Arabia Mountain Viney ard has reduced17 pesticide waste by 90 percent, significantly improving soil hea lth, water quality, and18 biodiversity; and19 WHEREAS, vineyards can sequester up to 1.5 metric tons of carbo n per acre annually,20 contributing to climate change mitigation and clean air for local communities; and 21 WHEREAS, Arabia Mountain Vineyard's cover crops improve soil fertility, reduce erosion,22 enhance water retention, and foster an environment where native species thrive; and23 WHEREAS, as Arabia Mountain Vineyard contributes significantly to the educational24 enrichment, economic empowerment, and cultural preservation of the DeKalb, Rockdale, and25 Henry counties it is abundantly fitting and proper that its contributions are honored; and26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body27 recognize Arabia Mountain Vineyard for cultivating a lasting le gacy of growth and28 prosperity that blends nature, culture, and community.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Arabia Mountain31 Vineyard.32 S.
