A RESOLUTION
Recognizing March 3, 2025, as Dutch Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia holds immense esteem for its rich cultural diversity and the vibrant contributions made by the Dutch community; and
WHEREAS, the Dutch community has played a significant role in the cultural, social, and economic development of our great state; and
WHEREAS, Dutch Day at the state capitol serves as an opportunity to celebrate the heritage, traditions, and contributions of the Dutch in Georgia; and
WHEREAS, this event fosters cultural understanding and unity among all Georgians, promoting respect and appreciation for the diverse backgrounds that enrich our state's fabric; and
WHEREAS, the celebration of Dutch Day encourages community engagement, education, and the sharing of cultural practices that enhance the lives of all citizens; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to recognize this day and the contributions of the Dutch community to our state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize March 3, 2025, as Dutch Day at the state capitol and encourage all citizens to engage in activities that celebrate and honor the Dutch heritage within our state. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
