## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution congratulates the North Forsyth High School competition cheerleading team for winning the 2024-2025 GHSA Class 6A Competition Cheerleading State Championship.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate rather than a change to state law. It recognizes the North Forsyth High School competition cheerleading team for capturing its second consecutive state cheerleading championship in the GHSA (Georgia High School Association) Class 6A division during the 2024-2025 season.
The resolution praises the team's performance, teamwork, and coaching staff, names each team member and coach, and formally congratulates the team on behalf of the Senate. It also directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to the team as a keepsake.

### What it does

- Formally congratulates the North Forsyth High School competition cheerleading team for winning the 2024-2025 GHSA Class 6A state championship.
- Names each of the sixteen team members and the three coaches individually in the resolution's text.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to the team.
- Does not create, amend, or repeal any Georgia statute, since it is a commemorative resolution rather than a law.

### Who it affects

The North Forsyth High School competition cheerleading team, its head coach and assistant coaches, and the school community are recognized by name. The resolution has no legal effect on the general public.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal or financial consequences; it is a public, official acknowledgment by the Georgia Senate of a local high school team's athletic achievement, giving the students and coaches formal recognition and a keepsake document.

### Key provisions

- The preamble (whereas clauses) describes the team's back-to-back state championships and credits Head Coach Jessica Wood and Assistant Coaches Abby Smith and Reed Jackson.
