A RESOLUTION

Commending Myron Fountain, the "Prison Dr."; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, known as the "Prison Dr.," Myron Fountain has dedicated his life to mentoring at-risk youth and steering them toward positive behavioral change through comprehensive mentorship programs; and

WHEREAS, having served over 20 years in prison due to a conviction at the age of 19, Myron Fountain took the opportunity to reform himself through self-help programs, martial arts training, and education, emerging with a deep commitment to guiding young individuals away from incarceration; and

WHEREAS, originally from Detroit, Michigan, Myron Fountain first established his mentorship work in his home town, incorporating a nonprofit in 2018 before relocating to Georgia in 2020 to start fresh in Atlanta; and

WHEREAS, through his nonprofit, The Prison Dr., Myron Fountain provides direct intervention services, including house calls, customized mentorship plans, and follow-up support, to ensure lasting personal transformation among troubled youth; and

WHEREAS, his mentorship programs have positively influenced the lives of more than 100 young individuals in metro Atlanta, building on his prior work mentoring around 300 youths in Detroit; and

WHEREAS, The Prison Dr.'s corrective mentorship programs address the root causes of rebellious and aggressive behavior, boasting an 80 percent success rate and leading to significant improvements in self-esteem, increased academic retention, and reduced involvement with the justice system; and

WHEREAS, Myron Fountain's work is grounded in a philosophy of personal responsibility, parental engagement, and spiritual accountability, emphasizing the importance of strong guidance and community support in shaping the future of young people; and

WHEREAS, his unwavering dedication to youth mentorship and intervention continues to make a profound impact in metro Atlanta, offering guidance, discipline, and hope to those at risk of being lost to the criminal justice system.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Myron Fountain, the "Prison Dr.," for his exceptional efforts in mentoring and transforming the lives of at-risk youth and extend best wishes for his continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Myron Fountain.
