## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Senate resolution congratulates the Cedartown High School cheerleading team for winning the 2024 GHSA Division 4A State Cheerleading Championship, its second consecutive title.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate honoring the Cedartown High School cheerleading team. It recognizes the team's 2024 GHSA Division 4A State Cheerleading Championship win, which was the squad's second consecutive state title and its highest score in school history.
The resolution names the team's coaches, Head Coach Shaie Dyer and Assistant Coach Shannon Allen, and lists all the team members by grade level. It does not change any Georgia law; it simply expresses the Senate's congratulations and directs the Secretary of the Senate to provide a copy of the resolution to the team for their records.

### What it does

- Formally congratulates the Cedartown High School cheerleading team for winning the 2024 GHSA Division 4A State Cheerleading Championship.
- Recognizes Head Coach Shaie Dyer and Assistant Coach Shannon Allen for their direction of the team.
- Names each team member by class year, from seniors to freshmen, in the resolution's text.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to the cheerleading team.

### Who it affects

The Cedartown High School cheerleading team, its head coach and assistant coach, and the school itself, all of whom are named and honored in the resolution.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal effect and changes no Georgia law. Its practical significance is symbolic: it gives the team and coaches a formal record of state recognition for their championship season, which the Secretary of the Senate will provide to the school.

### Key provisions

- The resolution's whereas clauses describe the team's 2024 season, including its highest-ever score and second consecutive state championship.
- It lists all team members by name and class (seniors, juniors, sophomores, freshmen) and credits Head Coach Shaie Dyer and Assistant Coach Shannon Allen.
- The resolving clause has the Senate congratulate the team and wish them continued success.
- A final clause directs the Secretary of the Senate to make a copy of the resolution available to the team.
