WCLK Jazz 91.9; recognize ## Text 25 LC 112 3479 Senate Resolution 451 By: Senators Halpern of the 39th, Harrell of the 40th, Orrock of the 36th, Kemp of the 38th, Davenport of the 17th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending WCLK Jazz 91.9 for its contributions to Georgia and the jazz1 community; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, WCLK, also known as Jazz 91.9, is a pillar of the Geor gia broadcasting3 community that has served as a beacon of culture, education, and artistic excellence since its4 very first broadcast on April 10, 1974; and5 WHEREAS, WCLK is housed on the historic campus of Clark Atlanta University and has6 spent the last five decades committed to sharing quality multimedia and broadcast programs;7 and8 WHEREAS, WCLK has remained steadfast in its mission to uplift, educate, and inform both9 the Atlanta community and the world while fostering greater awareness of jazz music as a10 unique American art form; and11 WHEREAS, WCLK has played a crucial role in guiding and training students in all aspects12 of broadcast and public media service, equipping future generations with essential skills in13 media production and communication; and14 S.
