A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending RUMC Job Networking; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, since its founding in 1988, RUMC Job Networking, a ministry of Roswell United Methodist Church, has provided invaluable support to job seekers throughout the metro Atlanta area, helping individuals secure employment, change careers, and re-enter the workforce; and

WHEREAS, this distinguished ministry has grown into one of the largest and most impactful job networking programs in the United States, having served more than 90,000 individuals through its comprehensive career development services and networking opportunities; and

WHEREAS, RUMC Job Networking meets every second and fourth Monday of the month, offering a full seven-hour program supported by over 155 dedicated volunteers, including business leaders, career coaches, human resources professionals, and recruiters; and

WHEREAS, the ministry's extensive workshops and services include resume reviews, LinkedIn optimization, interview preparation, overcoming ageism in the job search, stress management, and networking through the Industry Guide Program, all aimed at equipping job seekers with the tools necessary for career success; and

WHEREAS, RUMC Job Networking has additionally hosted numerous Mini-Job Fairs and has welcomed employers to bi-monthly meetings, offering job seekers direct access to employment opportunities and fostering a bridge between talented professionals and hiring organizations; and

WHEREAS, the impact of RUMC Job Networking has been widely recognized, including a brief 2010 feature on Diane Sawyer's ABC World News Tonight and a two-hour special hosted by Clark Howard on WSB-TV; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize RUMC Job Networking for its unwavering commitment to empowering job seekers, strengthening communities, and fostering professional growth.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend RUMC Job Networking for its decades of service and dedication on behalf of job seekers in the State of Georgia and beyond as well as extend best wishes for its continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to RUMC Job Networking.
