A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Michael S. "Killer Mike" Render; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Michael S. Render, widely known as "Killer Mike," is a Grammy2
Award-winning artist, activist, and entrepreneur whose influenc e extends far beyond the3
realm of music; and4
WHEREAS, he has consistently used his platform to promote finan cial literacy, uplift5
underserved communities, and advocate for meaningful policy change throughout the State6
of Georgia and beyond; and7
WHEREAS, Killer Mike serves as co-founder of Greenwood, a Black-owned digital banking8
platform designed to address financial disparities and foster wealth-building opportunities9
in historically marginalized communities; and10
WHEREAS, beyond his economic advocacy, Killer Mike has further served as a powerful11
voice for criminal justice reform, police accountability, votin g rights, and prison reform,12
using public platforms and media appearances to advance these critical causes; and13

WHEREAS, he has also delivered several lectures at colleges and universities, written about14
social justice topics for publications such as Billboard, and been the subject of multiple15
interviews regarding police misconduct and race relations; and16
WHEREAS, his presence in televised media includes his own Emmy Award-winning show17
Love and Respect, cameos on Ozark and Billions, and regular appearances on the Late Show18
with Stephen Colbert and Real Time with Bill Maher; and19
WHEREAS, the documentary series Trigger Warning with Killer Mike, in which he explores20
issues in the United States that affect the black community, premiered on Netflix in January21
2019; and22
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this23
remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately honored.24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body25
recognize and commend Michael S. "Killer Mike" Render for his m any exemplary26
contributions on behalf of the citizens of this state and beyon d as well as extend their best27
wishes for continued success.28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Michael S. "Killer30
Mike" Render.31
