## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution congratulates Dabney Bond, a member of the Midtown High School girls swim relay team, for a first place, record-breaking finish in the 400 Free Relay.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate, not a change to state law. It recognizes Dabney Bond, a swimmer on the Midtown High School girls swim relay team in Fulton County, for helping the team win first place in the 400 Free Relay and break the school record by seven seconds with a time of 3:31.75.
The resolution names Bond's relay teammates, Rhea El-Deiry, Katya Tumanova, and Sarah Paisley Owen, and praises the team's athletic ability, dedication, and unity. It directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare a copy of the resolution for Dabney Bond, serving as a formal keepsake of the honor rather than a policy action.

### What it does

- Formally congratulates Dabney Bond on behalf of the Georgia Senate for a first place finish in the 400 Free Relay swim event.
- Recognizes the Midtown High School girls swim relay team for breaking the school record with a time of 3:31.75.
- Names the other three relay team members: Rhea El-Deiry, Katya Tumanova, and Sarah Paisley Owen.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to Dabney Bond.

### Who it affects

This resolution directly names and honors Dabney Bond and, by extension, her Midtown High School swim relay teammates and the school in Fulton County. It has no effect on the general public or on Georgia law.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal or funding effect; it is a formal, symbolic honor. Its practical significance is limited to giving Dabney Bond and her teammates a written record of recognition from the Georgia Senate for their athletic achievement.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe the Midtown High School girls swim relay team's first place win in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:31.75, breaking the prior school record by seven seconds.
- The resolved clause has the Senate congratulate Dabney Bond specifically for the win and wish her continued success.
- The final clause directs the Secretary of the Senate to make a copy of the resolution available for distribution to Dabney Bond.
