A RESOLUTION
Commending the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and their radio and television station members; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, the nation's first and oldest broadcast association, works diligently to represent the interests of radio and television licensees and is composed of hundreds of radio and television broadcasters; and
WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and its television and radio station members have consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to their communities by providing timely and accurate local news, engaging content, and life-saving information; and
WHEREAS, during times of crisis, such as Hurricane Helene, broadcasters have played a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Georgia residents by delivering critical updates, emergency alerts, and essential information; and
WHEREAS, the commitment of these broadcasters to public service and their unwavering efforts to keep the public informed have significantly contributed to the resilience and preparedness of communities across Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and its members have shown exemplary professionalism, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility in their reporting and broadcasting, earning the trust and respect of their audiences; and
WHEREAS, the Georgia State Senate recognizes the invaluable contributions of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and its television and radio station members to the State of Georgia and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and their television and radio station members for their outstanding service, dedication, and commitment to their communities, especially during times of crisis like Hurricane Helene.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.
