Senate Resolution 510

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the Pan African American Chamber of Commerce; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Pan African American Chamber of Commerce (PAAC) serves as a unifying platform for leading independent business associations from major global economies, advocating on behalf of millions of small, medium, and large companies across the United States, Africa, and the Caribbean; and

WHEREAS, the chamber equips its members with valuable market intelligence and analysis on business conditions throughout Africa, America, and the broader Diaspora, identifying key economic development stakeholders and emerging opportunities; and

WHEREAS, the PAAC encourages the development of trustworthy one-on-one relationships among corporations and associations, supporting collaboration grounded in the principles of the free market economy, fair trade and investment, and adherence to the rule of law; and

WHEREAS, the chamber advances its mission through member-led workgroups, business conferences, institutional communications, and other programs that facilitate direct engagement with policymakers and promote the exchange of expertise; and

WHEREAS, the PAAC is governed by a seven-member Trustee Board and coordinated by a Chairman/President and CEO, who is selected from a member corporation and serves a renewable two-year term; and

WHEREAS, the PAAC welcomes new members who are committed to the chamber's core values of fairness, respect, responsibility, and honesty as well as to the advancement of the African and American economic agenda; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable organization be appropriately honored during this special time.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend the Pan African American Chamber of Commerce for its dedication to global economic collaboration and the empowerment of business communities as well as extend best wishes for future success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Pan African American Chamber of Commerce.
