## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution congratulates Senator Brandon Beach on his appointment as United States Treasurer and honors his years of service in the Georgia State Senate.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate, not a law that changes any rights or rules. It recounts Senator Brandon Beach's more than two decades representing the 21st District, his leadership of Senate committees on transportation and economic development, and his business career, including founding the North Fulton Improvement District.
The resolution then formally congratulates Beach on being appointed United States Treasurer by President Donald J. Trump, a federal position overseeing the U.S. Mint and Fort Knox and advising on fiscal policy. It directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare a copy of the resolution for Beach as a keepsake. It does not create, amend, or repeal any Georgia statute.

### What it does

- Formally applauds Senator Brandon Beach's service in the Georgia Senate and congratulates him on his appointment as United States Treasurer.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to Senator Beach.
- Recites his committee leadership roles, including chairing the Senate Transportation Committee and the Senate Economic Development and Tourism Committee.
- Creates no new law, funding, or requirement; it is a ceremonial statement of the Senate's position.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Senator Brandon Beach, a Georgia state senator representing parts of North Fulton and East Cobb counties, and the Secretary of the Senate, who is tasked with preparing a commemorative copy for him.

### Why it matters

The resolution has no legal or financial effect on Georgians; it is a symbolic statement recognizing a state senator's move to a federal role as United States Treasurer, a position tied to the U.S. Mint and federal fiscal policy rather than Georgia governance.

### Key provisions

- The 'WHEREAS' clauses recount Senator Beach's Senate career since 2013 and his committee leadership, including Appropriations, Rules, and Ethics.
- The clauses describe his private-sector work founding the North Fulton Improvement District and serving on the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority and Georgia Department of Transportation boards.
- The resolved clause formally honors Beach and congratulates him on his appointment as United States Treasurer under the Trump Administration.
- A further resolved clause directs the Secretary of the Senate to make a copy of the resolution available for distribution to Beach.
