A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Nikki Glanton on Women Veterans Appreciation Day at the Capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Master Sergeant (Ret.) Nikki Glanton served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Army Reserve, valiantly and courageously protecting her fellow Americans from 2001 to 2022; and
WHEREAS, over the course of her decorated career, she completed five combat tours in the Middle East and earned more than 25 awards and decorations for her exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to service; and
WHEREAS, currently, Nikki is a respected communications and public affairs executive, bringing over 25 years of experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors; and
WHEREAS, as the Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs for the Atlanta Police Foundation, she directs impactful, citywide communication strategies that strengthen public safety, elevate community trust, and connect business and civic leaders to initiatives designed to make Atlanta the nation's safest large city; and
WHEREAS, her leadership has been pivotal in launching and communicating the mission of the Public Safety Training Center, one of the most significant public-private infrastructure projects in Atlanta's history; and
WHEREAS, she was recognized in 2020 as one of the most influential African American businesswomen to follow on LinkedIn, and is widely respected for her successful transition from military to civilian life as well as her ability to inspire others to do the same through storytelling, authenticity, and service; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding contributions of this exemplary veteran are appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Nikki Glanton for the dedication, bravery, and sacrifices she has made to serve her country and extend sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Nikki Glanton.
