A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the Georgia Association of Broadcasters; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters is comprised of an exemplary group of citizens who contribute to the general well-being of our state by informing the public and fostering insightful dialogue regarding the day's most pressing issues; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, the nation's first and oldest broadcast association, works diligently to represent the interests of local Georgia radio and television licensees and is comprised of over 400 broadcasters across the state; and

WHEREAS, these local radio and television broadcasters play a vital role in times of great struggle, including natural disasters and severe weather events, providing critical information and guidance to keep communities safe; and

WHEREAS, their service is equally essential during political election years, ensuring that citizens remain informed and engaged while promoting thoughtful discussion on issues of importance; and

WHEREAS, through their roles as respected and trusted broadcasters, members of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters positively impact our state and local communities.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body honor and commend the Georgia Association of Broadcasters for utilizing their roles as respected and well-known broadcasters.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.
