Senate Resolution 583 By: Senators Bearden of the 30th and Brass of the 6th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Zaida Bustamante; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Zaida Bustamante has established a glowing reputation of renown throughout Georgia for her dedication, perseverance, discipline, and strong commitment to family and personal advancement; and WHEREAS, a first-generation college graduate and nontraditional student, Zaida Bustamante, steadfastly pursued higher education while working full-time and raising three children; and WHEREAS, preparing for leadership in Georgia’s construction and infrastructure industry, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Kennesaw State University’s College of Architecture and Construction Management; and WHEREAS, Zaida Bustamante served as President of the Associated General Contractors Student Chapter, providing leadership in professional development, industry engagement, and student mentorship; and WHEREAS, as the Treasurer of Kennesaw Women in Construction, she supported initiatives that promote inclusion, leadership development, and workforce diversity within the construction industry; and WHEREAS, Zaida Bustamante is committed to continued professional and community engagement through ongoing involvement with Kennesaw Women in Construction and anticipated participation in National Women in Construction; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this extraordinary Georgian be appropriately honored. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend and recognize Zaida Bustamante for her many valuable contributions on behalf of the citizens of Georgia and extend best wishes for her future. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Zaida Bustamante.
