A RESOLUTION
Honoring His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo was born on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1933, on Victoria Island, Lagos State, to the family of the late Dickson Adeleye Alogbo and Maria Ojubomo Alogbo; and
WHEREAS, growing up he was surrounded by music as his father was the choirmaster at Hoare Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS, in 1959, while working with the Nigeria Railway Corporation in Zaria. as fate would have it, he heard the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church choir singing a hymn he had composed during his time as a member of the choir of United Methodist African Church; and
WHEREAS, this marked the beginning of his spiritual journey and contributions to the church's music ministry as well as his faith driven and devoted membership to the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church; and
WHEREAS, in 1960, Brother Emmanuel Alogbo returned to Lagos where he was inspired by God and established the first branch of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church in Lagos, the south of the River Niger, thereby becoming the architect of the founding Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church in Southern Nigeria; and
WHEREAS, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo introduced innovations that greatly enriched worship in the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church including bringing a dance-music style to services; and
WHEREAS, on September 20, 2025, His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr) Emmanuel Abiodun Adewale Alogbo was appointed the Supreme Head (Olori) and assumed the leadership of Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria (otherwise known as Unification) - an umbrella body for all Cherubim and Seraphim Churches all over the world.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body honor His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo and extend sincere best wishes for his continued health and happiness. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo
