## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Senate resolution formally recognizes Reverend Timothy H. Bullock for being called to lead Woods Memorial Baptist Church and commends his years of religious and community service.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate, not a change to state law. It honors Reverend Timothy H. Bullock, who was recently called to lead the congregation of Woods Memorial Baptist Church, following in the footsteps of his father, Reverend Dr. Samuel H. Bullock Jr.
The resolution recounts Bullock's work as a pastor, including preaching, visiting the sick, counseling people in need, and performing baptisms, and praises his role as a spiritual and community leader. It directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare a copy of the resolution for Bullock, but it creates no new laws, funding, or requirements.

### What it does

- Formally recognizes and commends Reverend Timothy H. Bullock for his religious leadership and community service.
- Marks his recent calling to lead the congregation of Woods Memorial Baptist Church.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to Bullock.
- Creates no changes to Georgia law, funding, or government programs.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Reverend Timothy H. Bullock and Woods Memorial Baptist Church. It has no legal effect on the broader public, other clergy, or any state agency beyond the Secretary of the Senate, who must distribute the document.

### Why it matters

This resolution is symbolic rather than binding law. It provides public, official recognition from the Georgia Senate of a local religious leader's new role, which can carry ceremonial and community significance but does not alter any rights, duties, or funding for Georgians.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe Bullock's background, including his lineage and pastoral duties such as counseling, sermon preparation, and baptisms.
- The resolved clause formally commends Bullock upon his calling to lead Woods Memorial Baptist Church.
- A further resolved clause instructs the Secretary of the Senate to make a copy available to Bullock.
