Senate Resolution 597 By: Senators Orrock of the 36th, Wicks of the 34th, Watson of the 11th, Echols of the 49th, Hufstetler of the 52nd and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Danah Craft on her outstanding public service as the executive director of Feeding Georgia; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Danah Craft has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced dramatically by her superlative 15 years of service with Feeding Georgia; and WHEREAS, prior to leading Feeding Georgia, Danah had a successful career lobbying at the state and federal level, passionately crafting solutions that make life better for everyone in Georgia; and WHEREAS, Danah's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and WHEREAS, Danah has served with honor and distinction, and her vision and unyielding commitment to Feeding Georgia will be sorely missed upon the occasion of her retirement; and WHEREAS, in her retirement, Danah continues to serve her community as a longtime mentor in Georgia State University's Women Lead program, a member of the Women Lead Advisory Council, and as board chair with Cultured Ag; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Danah Craft for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia, congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement, and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution Danah Craft.
