A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the City of Austell; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the City of Austell, founded in 1885, has played and important role in the growth and development of the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, historically recognized as a therapeutic city and famously known as a natural health resort, the city boasts a serene, picturesque setting of parks and oak trees making it an ideal place for both visitors and residents; and
WHEREAS, located 18 miles west of Atlanta, Austell is a significant station division terminal, hosting several trains and transferring countless passengers each day; and
WHEREAS, the City of Austell provides unique and advanced opportunities by meeting current and future needs of those living in, doing business with, and visiting the city; and
WHEREAS, Austell is known for its commitment to accountability, understanding, stewardship, trust, efficiency, loyalty, and leadership, reflecting the highest ideals of the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding citizens, leaders, and employees of the City of Austell are appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend the City of Austell for its continued historical, economic, and cultural contributions to the State of Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
