Senate Resolution 613 By: Senators Wicks of the 34th, Davenport of the 17th, Harrell of the 40th, James of the 28th and Parent of the 44th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Gail B. Hambrick; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Gail B. Hambrick has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced dramatically by her superlative service as Clayton County Commissioner for District 2; and WHEREAS, a Clayton County resident of more than 30 years and life long public servant in the state of Geogia, Commissioner Hambrick is deeply rooted in and steadfastly committed to the communities she serves, including portions of College Park, Forest Park, and Riverdale; and WHEREAS, Commissioner Hambrick has served with honor and distinction, and her unwavering dedication to advancing initiatives that strengthen public safety, infrastructure, and community engagement have set the standard for public service; and WHEREAS, under her guided hand, Clayton County has expanded neighborhood watch groups; strengthened emergency response to fires, flooding, and extreme weather events; and increased community connections through her signature events such as the Back to School Bash, Hispanic Heritage Festival, June Jam, and many other community-focused initiatives; and WHEREAS, her exemplary leadership and service has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards and honors including the Unsung Hero Award from the State Legislative Black Caucus; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to honor the outstanding leadership, keen sense of vision, and dedication represented by Commissioner Hambrick. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Gail B. Hambrick for her service as Clayton County Commissioner for District 2 and extend sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Gail B. Hambrick.
