A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Pierce County High School boys tennis team for winning the 2025 GHSA
Class AA State Tennis Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Pierce County High School boys tennis team has exemplified dedication,
discipline, and teamwork throughout the 2024-2025 season, setting a standard of excellence
for student-athletes at the school; and
WHEREAS, in May 2025, the team secured the GHSA Class AA State Tennis
Championship, showcasing skill, determination, and resilience in every match; and
WHEREAS, this championship represents the first tennis state title in the history of Pierce
County High School, marking a milestone for the program and the community, and it is
further distinguished as the first-ever state title event hosted in Bearville; and
WHEREAS, the success of this historic team reflects the guidance, mentorship, and
leadership of Coach Matt Hickox, whose dedication and expertise were instrumental in
preparing the team for its championship season; and
WHEREAS, through this remarkable achievement, the Pierce County High School boys
tennis team has brought pride to its school and community, earning recognition for athletic

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate the Pierce County High School boys tennis team on winning the 2025 GHSA

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Pierce County
High School boys tennis team.
