Senate Resolution 646

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing Mr. Fred Alexander Sr.; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Mr. Fred Alexander Sr. has defied extraordinary odds, courageously
overcoming his more than 20-year long battle with cancer, the terrible disease that claimed
the lives of his brothers, father, uncles, and grandfather; and
WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Mr. Fred Alexander Sr. is a proud member
God’s Divine Grace Ministries and New Birth Baptist Church as well as previously served
in leadership for more than a decade at Salem Bible Church; and
WHEREAS, he is united in love and marriage to his outstanding wife, Pat, and together they
have four remarkable children, 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, now retired from a successful and fulfilling career in landscaping, electrical
supply commercial driving, and mechanic work, Mr. Fred Alexander Sr. finds great joy in
his favorite pastimes of collecting rare and antique cars as well as watching NHRA drag
racing, baseball, basketball, and football; and
WHEREAS, reflecting a lifetime of hard work, passion, and craftsmanship, Mr. Fred
Alexander Sr. now enjoys working on his beloved 1946 Chevy pickup truck; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize the outstanding feat
demonstrated by Mr. Fred Alexander Sr. in overcoming his battle with cancer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
recognize Mr. Fred Alexander Sr. And extend their most sincere best wishes for his
continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mr. Fred
Alexander Sr.
