By: Senators McLaurin of the 14th, Brass of the 6th, Williams of the 25th, Kemp of the 38th,
Goodman of the 8th and others
A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Allison Adassa Foderingham; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the passing of Allison Adassa Foderingham on January 10, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Allison Adassa Foderingham was born on March 1, 1925, in James Hill,
Clarendon, Jamaica, a beloved daughter of Alfred and Louise Richards; and
WHEREAS, she attended James Hill Primary School, became part of the first graduating
class of Clarendon College in Jamaica, and later earned a master's degree in education with
a certificate in guidance and counseling from Western Carolina University in 1977; and
WHEREAS, she dedicated 51 years of superlative service to her exemplary teaching career,
which culminated in her final role as the director of the G.E.D./H.S. Program at The Fulton
Atlanta Community Action Authority in Atlanta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, she was an active member of The Episcopal
Church of the Holy Cross, where she was a dedicated member of several groups including
the Episcopal Church Women and Daughters of the King; and
WHEREAS, she was united in love and marriage to her husband, Noel, and was blessed with
five remarkable children, Monica, Winsome, Ann Marie, Joan, and Andrew; six wonderful
grandchildren, Camille, Monique, Jheanelle, Jacqui, Jordan, and Janayah; and two
outstanding great-grandchildren, Dylan and Elijah; and
WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern
for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated to
her family and friends were admired by others; and
WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,
she made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Allison Adassa Foderingham will long
be remembered for her love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all
who had the great fortune of knowing her.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
join in honoring the life and memory of Allison Adassa Foderingham and express their
deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of
Allison Adassa Foderingham.
