WHEREAS, Greta Heard, a proud resident of Covington, Georgia, has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, with 33 years of experience in the banking industry, Greta is a seasoned professional who currently holds the position of Market President at Newton Federal Bank, where she made history as the first woman and the first African American to achieve this title; and WHEREAS, beyond her banking career, Greta serves as Director of Finance for the Taylor Made Foundation and is the TMU Program Coordinator at Taylor Made University, leaving a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of individuals, families, and future leaders within her community; and WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Greta Heard for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to the State of Georgia and extend their sincere best wishes for continued health, happiness, and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Greta Heard.
