Senate Resolution 656 By: Senators Anderson of the 43rd, Harbison of the 15th, Mangham of the 55th, Sims of the 12th, James of the 28th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Shundra Green; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Shundra Green has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, a native of Covington, Georgia, Shundra Green knew from a young age that her calling was to become and educator and to serve the youth in her community; and WHEREAS, with over 13 years of service at Newton High School, Shundra's passion for students extends far beyond the classroom, where she sponsored a mentoring group for young women, focused on fostering leadership, personal growth, and confidence; and WHEREAS, during her tenure at Newton High School, Shundra served as a department chair and ALANHS Director Manager, where her significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and diplomacy, and keen sense of vision earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues, associates, and students; and WHEREAS, through her unwavering dedication to education, leadership, and community service, Shundra Green continues to leave a lasting legacy by shaping future leaders and strengthening the educational community she proudly calls home; and WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Shundra Green for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to the State of Georgia and extend their sincere best wishes for continued health, happiness, and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Shundra Green.
