A RESOLUTION
Recognizing February 10, 2026, as Interfaith Children’s Movement Day at the capitol; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS, founded on September 11, 2001, Interfaith Children’s Movement (ICM) is a
Georgia-based policy and advocacy organization dedicated to advancing child-centered
public policy and strengthening systems that support children, families, and communities;
and
WHEREAS, rooted in faith values and guided by principles of equity, justice, and human
dignity, ICM works to ensure that all children in Georgia-regardless of income, race,
geography, or background-have access to opportunity, stability, and wellbeing; and
WHEREAS, ICM engages in legislative advocacy, policy analysis, coalition-building, and
civic engagement to address structural barriers impacting children and families; its policy
priorities include education equity, child welfare and protection, maternal and infant health,
health access, economic security, food security, and community stability; and
WHEREAS, through strategic partnerships with faith communities, nonprofit organizations,
and public institutions, ICM advances preventative, evidence-based, and
community-informed solutions that strengthen Georgia’s public systems and promote
long-term social and economic mobility; and
WHEREAS, Interfaith Children’s Movement serves as a trusted voice for children and
families in Georgia, working to shape policy that reflects shared values, responsible
governance, and a commitment to the common good.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
recognize February 10, 2026, as Interfaith Children’s Movement Day at the capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Interfaith
Children’s Movement.
