A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending McKenna Kiersten Baskett; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, McKenna Kiersten Baskett was crowned Royal International Miss Pre-Teen 2025-2026 at the prestigious Royal International Miss Pageant held in Orlando, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the international competition included a personal interview, on-stage personal introduction, fashion wear runway presentation, and evening gown competition, with optional segments highlighting public speaking and runway excellence; and
WHEREAS, in addition to winning the overall crown, McKenna placed first in four optional competitions: international spokesmodel, dream model, royal top model, and casual wear modeling; and
WHEREAS, she will serve a full year as Royal International Miss Pre-Teen, participating in national events, global leadership projects, community initiatives, and media engagements; and
WHEREAS, Royal International Miss strongly emphasizes service and community engagement, and in recognition of McKenna's personal commitment of exceeding 100 hours of service, she received the Golden Service Award presented by Delta Sigma Kappa; and
WHEREAS, her service included sustained volunteer efforts supporting the Cherokee Homeless Veterans Association Thrift Store and the LiveSafe Resources Domestic Violence Shelter, and further included her work with seniors and aging populations throughout Greater Metropolitan Atlanta and foster youth aligned with the Royal International Miss service project, Children Are the Future; and
WHEREAS, she has been named a finalist nominee for the Beauty...It's Everywhere International Pre-Teen Titleholder of the Year, selected from more than 250,000 nominees worldwide; and
WHEREAS, an exceptional leader both on and off the stage, McKenna is the founder of Just Look Around, a youth-led initiative established in 2024 that promotes science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) education through creativity, volunteerism, leadership, and community connection; and
WHEREAS, additionally, McKenna is a Girl Scout Cadette with Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Troop 19858, where she leads service initiatives and STEAM programming through the Just Look Around: P.O.W.E.R. Moves Framework in collaboration with the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta; and
WHEREAS, the Just Look Around: P.O.W.E.R. Moves Framework supports the four pillars of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, STEM, Outdoors, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship, by increasing accessibility and exposure to STEAM opportunities through education, service, and experiential learning; and
WHEREAS, McKenna proudly represents the Cherokee County School District through her participation in state-wide academic competitions, Georgia PTA Reflections, the Freedom Middle School Sources of Strength Council, the Freedom Middle School Principal's Advisory Council, and in competition swim and piano events; and
WHEREAS, through competition and meaningful initiatives, McKenna has brought great pride to herself, her family, Cherokee County, and the State of Georgia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize McKenna Kiersten Baskett upon being crowned Royal International Miss Pre-Teen 2025-2026; commend her impactful work promoting science, technology, engineering, arts, and math education; and extend their sincere best wishes for success in all future endeavors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to McKenna Kiersten Baskett.
