A RESOLUTION

Recognizing January 30, 2025, as APRN Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, patients depend on the more than 20,000 licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) in Georgia to diagnose, manage, and treat their chronic and acute health care conditions; and

WHEREAS, APRNs work to expand health care access in communities across the State of Georgia, promoting health equity in care and improving health outcomes for all; and

WHEREAS, the confidence patients have in APRN-delivered health care is evidenced by the more than one billion visits made annually to APRNs across the country; and

WHEREAS, better utilization of APRNs through modernized state laws and improved policies creates better health outcomes through a more accessible, efficient, cost-effective, and higher-quality health care system; and

WHEREAS, APRNs serve as major health care providers for many Georgians and play a pivotal role in the health and welfare of our communities.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize January 30, 2025, as APRN Day at the state capitol and commend the men and women of our APRN workforce for their strength, leadership, and courage in their willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
