A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the City of Wadley upon its 150th anniversary; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, on February 21, 2026, the City of Wadley will celebrate its 150th anniversary;
and
WHEREAS, this historic milestone provides an opportunity to honor the residents,
employees, volunteers, and leaders who have shaped the City of Wadley; and
WHEREAS, originally known as Shake Rag, the City of Wadley has served its citizens with
compassion, integrity, and respect since 1876; and
WHEREAS, the city developed as a railroad town and has remained a resilient and close-knit
community through generations of growth, change, and service; and
WHEREAS, this anniversary not only recognizes the past, but reaffirms the City of Wadley's
commitment to a vibrant future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate the City of Wadley upon its 150th anniversary and extend sincere best wishes
for its continued growth and success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the City of
Wadley.
