## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia Senate resolution formally commends Noelia Sargento, the 2025 state winner of the Technical College System of Georgia's EAGLE award for adult literacy education achievement.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia Senate, not a change to state law. It recognizes Noelia Sargento as the 2025 state recipient of the Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) award, a program run by the Technical College System of Georgia that honors adult learners who show outstanding achievement in adult education classes.
The resolution notes that Sargento was chosen from among 25 EAGLE delegates statewide and will serve as an ambassador for adult education in Georgia, representing nearly 22,000 students in the state's adult education programs. It credits her achievement to Georgia Northwestern Technical College. The Senate resolves to commend and congratulate her, and directs the Secretary of the Senate to provide her with an official copy of the resolution.

### What it does

- Formally commends and congratulates Noelia Sargento for winning the 2025 EAGLE award for adult education achievement.
- States that Sargento will serve as an ambassador representing nearly 22,000 adult education students across Georgia.
- Directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare and distribute an official copy of the resolution to Sargento.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Noelia Sargento, a student at Georgia Northwestern Technical College. It also touches the Technical College System of Georgia and its adult education program, which serves nearly 22,000 students statewide.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal or funding effect; it is a symbolic honor. Its practical significance is limited to public recognition of Sargento's achievement and the visibility it brings to Georgia's adult education programs.

### Key provisions

- The preamble explains that EAGLE has run for 32 years and recognizes adult learners' exceptional achievement in adult education classes statewide.
- The resolved clause has the Senate commend and congratulate Sargento for her educational achievements and advocacy for adult education.
- The final clause directs the Secretary of the Senate to make an official copy available for distribution to Sargento.
