Senate Resolution 702 By: Senators Hickman of the 4th, Payne of the 54th, Still of the 48th, Bearden of the 30th and Setzler of the 37th A RESOLUTION Commending the Professional Association of Georgia Educators and recognizing PAGE Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) is the state's largest organization for professional educators with more than 94,500 members who are teachers, administrators, and support personnel employed in every school system in Georgia; and WHEREAS, PAGE was founded in the 1970s with the mission to make Georgia a better place for students to learn and for teachers to teach; and WHEREAS, the PAGE Foundation sponsors the Academic Bowl for Middle Grades, the Georgia Academic Decathlon for high school students, and the Student and Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program; and WHEREAS, PAGE has promoted teaching as a profession by sponsoring local chapters of the Future Georgia Educators in middle schools and high schools across the state; and WHEREAS, PAGE provides legal protection and professional learning to enhance competence and confidence, build leadership, and increase student achievement; and WHEREAS, PAGE actively participates in the legislative process each year, working to improve education and student achievement while promoting a positive and professional working relationship with legislative representatives across the state; and WHEREAS, on February 17, 2026, PAGE members and leaders will gather at the state capitol to meet with local legislators. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend the Professional Association of Georgia Educators for its advocacy and support for educators and education and recognize February 17, 2026, as PAGE Day at the state capitol. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Professional Association of Georgia Educators.
