A RESOLUTION
Commending Braselton Police Chief Terry Esco; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Braselton Police Chief Terry Esco retires in March after 35 years of dedicated
service to the town and its community; and
WHEREAS, Chief Esco was hired by former Mayor Henry E. Braselton in February 1990
after earning his P.O.S.T. certification the year before, and he was promoted to Chief in May
1991; and
WHEREAS, as the town expanded into four counties, Chief Esco grew the department's
personnel to 23 officers; and
WHEREAS, alongside the department's methodical growth in personnel, Chief Esco oversaw
advancements in technology, training, equipment, vehicle upgrades, and certifications to
meet modern law enforcement needs; and
WHEREAS, Chief Esco has served with distinction in additional roles such as a GACP
All-Hazard Council Representative and President of the Gwinnett Police Chiefs Association;
and
WHEREAS, in his role as Public Safety Director for the Town of Braselton, Chief Esco has
ensured a safe and tranquil environment for its residents and visitors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
commend the care, courage, sympathy, and selfless dedication exhibited by Braselton Police
Chief Terry Esco in carrying out the difficult duties of his vocation and express their utmost
appreciation for having so purely and truly defined for others the meaning of public servant.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Braselton Police
Chief Terry Esco.
